How to: Get rid of dry flaky skin on your face.

(I know there are probably millions of ways to do this but this is how I get rid of dry flaky skin.)

I don't know about you but before I found out how to exfoliate my face, dry, flaky skin was one of the biggest issues I had. Every winter my face would look dreadful and foundation just wouldn't work. I was really self conscious of people coming too close to my face incase they saw it and I thought it was just disgusting .I used to just keep moisturizing and moisturizing but again, no luck . And then I found out how to get rid of it and well to be honest I have no clue what I was doing with my life before I picked up that exfoliating mitt. So here is what you need and how I get rid of dry flaky skin on my face.

You will need:
A good facial scrub-

I use St Ives (Naturally Clear) Apricot Scrub. I feel as though this works best on my skin as it's not so oily and more creamy which I like. The scent is not too overpowering and it really does a good job. Before I used this I used to have very bad red blotches on my cheeks and now they are hardly visible  I got mine from Boots for £4.29, but most supermarkets and drugstores will have the full St Ives range.

An exfoliating mitt/gloves-
You can pick these up pretty much anywhere and for very cheap too. I got mine from boots for £2.69. Exfoliating mitts/gloves are the main thing that removes the dry skin. I find that if I use the scrub alone it doesn't really work. I prefer the gloves to the round mitts so I can get to specific small areas easier.

What to do:

Wet your face all over with warm water, put your glove on and squeeze a small amount of scrub onto the glove. Then just gently scrub away focusing more on your problematic areas, I tend to get mostly dry skin on my forehead and on my nose. I use circular motions all over to make sure I've got the scrub deep into my pores. After you scrubbed, rinse your face with warm water and then cold water and pat dry with a clean towel. Exfoliating gloves can be used more that once as long as you give them a good wash and put them somewhere clean to dry. I usually put a tiny bit of moisturizer onto my face once I've finished the whole process.

And there you have it, perfectly smooth, non flaky skin.
